INTRODUCTION: Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) was first recognised in July 2013 in the DSM-5 after a long journey to identify its existence. It was not until 1983 that the US National Institute of Mental Health determined research criteria for the study of PMS. In 1994, the term "premenstrual dysphoric disorder" (PMDD) replaced this term in the 4th edition of the Diagnostic System Manual (DSM). It was listed in the section "Mood Disorder Not Otherwise Specified" and remained under consideration until the DSM-5, in which it appeared in the depressive disorders section. The legitimisation of the psychiatric diagnosis as well as the determination of clear symptomatology criteria in 2013 opened up possibilities for management, development of clinical, pathophysiological, therapeutic and psychotherapeutic studies. This disabling disorder can affect personal, social, family and professional life. In 2019, the ICD-11 in turn introduced the diagnosis of premenstrual dysphoric disorder, which solidifies the recognition of the disorder. OBJECTIVE: (I) to review the existing treatments, both medicinal and psychotherapeutic, and (II) to review their effectiveness. At the end of this work we will formulate recommendations for the management of these patients. METHODOLOGY: A bibliographic search was carried out from 7 June 2021 to 7 July2021 on the databases (bases de données) Psychinfo APA, Scopus, PubMed, as well as the bases de données of the Cochrane organisation and the recommendation documents of the Haute Autorité de la santé. After an initial selection based on keywords, the full text of all articles were read to arrive at the final selection of 32 articles. RESULTS: Antidepressants and Cognitive Behavioural Therapies (CBT) appear to be the most commonly recommended treatments for PMDD. Other research shows the effectiveness of oral contraceptives including drospirenone. Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) were identified as an effective treatment for PMDD. These data are consistent with the current etiological hypothesis of PMDD which has a negative impact of natural hormonal fluctuations on certain neurotransmitters. CBT showed positive results in reducing the functional impact of PMDD. DISCUSSION: Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressants were reported to be first-line treatments for PMDD (sertraline 50-150 mg/d, fluoxetine 10-20 mg/d, escitalopram 10-20 mg/d, paroxetine 12.5-25 mg/d). Drospirenone (EE 3 mg and EE 20 mg/d 24 days of hormonal pills, 4 days inactive) appears to have been a first or second line treatment depending on the articles. Current results clearly point to the effectiveness of CBT in helping to reduce: functional impairment, depressed mood, feelings of hopelessness, anxiety, mood swings, sensitivity, irritability, insomnia, conflict with others, impact of premenstrual symptoms on daily life, intensity of symptoms experienced, and symptom handicap. CBTs could also become a first-line treatment if there were to be more evidence of their effectiveness. In the future, it would seem useful to offer a psychotherapeutic treatment that can be reproduced and to multiply research with a high level of scientific comparability in order to clarify the place of CBT in the management of PMDD. Research on the etiopathology of the disorder and the optimal drug regimen is still ongoing. There is a need to develop appropriate psychotherapeutic techniques to support and accompany these patients. CONCLUSION: In order to better evaluate treatments for PMDD, there is a need to homogenise studies on the subject at several levels: design, treatment doses, psychotherapeutic techniques, and evaluation measures. At present, some studies include both premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and PMDD patients. PMS and PMDD do not include the same symptoms, nor the same severity and potentially the same aetiology in the patients studied. In order to propose rigorous research that evaluates the effectiveness of treatments for PMDD and to properly support people with both these disorders, it seems essential to distinguish the two conditions. The role of the health practitioner is to be able to identify PMDD by differentiating it from other clinically related disorders. The patient must then be accompanied to make a choice of treatment adapted to her symptoms, their severity, her history, her plans for procreation, contraindications and her preferences. In 2021, the French National Authority for Health did not offer any guidelines or recommendations for the management of premenstrual dysphoric disorder. There is a need to develop research in France.

OBJECTIVE: The relationship between physical activity and lower limb veins is complex. If a sedentary lifestyle is considered to be negative on lower limb veins, specific information on physical activity varicose vein volume is sparse, especially the effect of high physical activity volume. The main objective of the VARISPORT study was to evaluate lower limb veins (clinically, morphologically, and haemodynamically) and chronic venous disease symptoms in subjects exposed to high physical activity volume compared with a group of non-exposed subjects. METHODS: A cross sectional study compared a group of high exercise training volume volunteers (more than eight hours of uninterrupted vigorous intensity physical activity per week for more than six months: high physical activity volume group, HPAV group) with a volunteer control group matched for age, sex, and body mass index. Clinical examination was performed to determine the Clinical, Etiological, Anatomical, Pathophysiological (CEAP) classification of each subject and the Carpentier score was used to assess symptoms related to possible chronic venous disease. Duplex ultrasonography was used to assess vein diameters and reflux in the deep and superficial veins. RESULTS: One hundred and nineteen subjects were included in each group. The lower limb veins (deep and superficial) were significantly more dilated in the HPAV group. More reflux was found in the great saphenous veins and non-saphenous veins in the HPAV group. High physical activity volume was associated with a higher frequency of visible varicose veins (stage C2 of the CEAP classification), odds ratio 3.37 (95% confidence interval 1.66 - 7.25) without impact on functional discomfort (44 subjects with a Carpentier score ≥ 1 in each group). CONCLUSION: The VARISPORT study reported an increase in the calibre of the lower limb veins without impact on functional discomfort. Further studies are needed to determine whether these athletic veins are truly pathological varicose veins or simply an adaptation to high physical activity volumes.

A high-resolution mass spectrometry screening method was developed and validated based on EU SANTE/11312/2021 guidelines for the analysis of 850 multi-class contaminants in commercial seafood samples. Samples were extracted using a novel sequential QuEChUP preparation method that combines the QuEChERS and QuPPe procedures. The screening detection limits (SDLs) and limits of identification (LOIs) were equal to or lower than 0.01 mg·kg-1 for 92% and 78% of contaminants, respectively. This screening procedure was ultimately applied for a target screening analysis of 24 seafood samples. The concentrations of identified contaminants were assessed using semi-quantitative approach. Two identified contaminants, diuron and diclofenac, showed the highest estimated average concentrations: 0.076 and 0.068 mg·kg-1 respectively in mussel samples. Suspect screening was also performed. Target and suspect screening led to the identification of mixtures of contaminants (pesticides, veterinary products, industrial chemicals and personal care products) and the assessment of their frequencies of appearance (FoA).

Due to agricultural runoff, pesticides end up in aquatic ecosystems and some accumulate in marine bivalves. As filter feeders, bivalves can accumulate high concentrations of chemicals in their tissue representing a potential risk to the health of human and aquatic ecosystems. So far, most of the studies dealing with pesticide contamination in marine bivalves, for example, in the French Atlantic and English Channel coasts, have focused on the old generation of pesticides. Only a few investigated the newly emerging pesticides partly due to methodological challenges. A better understanding of the most sensitive and reliable methods is thus essential for accurately determining a wide variety of environmentally relevant pesticides in marine bivalves. The review highlighted the use of more environmentally friendly and efficient materials such as sorbents and the "quick easy cheap effective rugged safe" extraction procedure to extract pesticides from bivalve matrices, as they appeared to be the most efficient while being the safest. Moreover, this method combined with the high-resolution mass spectrometry (MS) technique offers promising perspectives by highlighting a wide range of pesticides including those that are not usually sought. Finally, recent developments in the field of ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to MS, such as two-dimensional chromatography and ion mobility spectrometry, will improve the analysis of pesticides in complex matrices.

Biomarkers involved in detoxification process (GST), oxidative stress (SOD and MDA), immune response (Laccase) and neurotoxic disorders (AChE) were analysed in Pacific oysters and blue mussels collected from 4 locations within the Pertuis sea (France). Seasonal variations of total pesticide mean concentrations were found in seawater with metolachlor being the main pesticide measured (up to 32 ng/L). The majority of pesticide concentrations in sediment were below the LOD. Seasonal contamination differences were evidenced for chlortoluron, especially in mussels where concentrations reached 16 ng/g (wet weight) during the winter, in the Charente estuary, but no relationships with any of the biomarkers selected arisen. Actually, low concentrations of alpha-, beta-BHC and alachlor were correlated to GST activity, and low levels of hexachlorobenzene were linked to the AChE activity and MDA content in oysters. In mussels, low concentrations of methylparathion, parathion and beta-BHC were correlated to laccase.

Port areas are socio-ecosystems impacted by chronic mixture pollution. Some marine species benefit from living there and may be studied to define the ecological state of such environments. In this study, the risks of chronic chemical contamination and its consequences on three marine molluscs were evaluated in North Corsica (France) port areas. Mediterranean mussel Mytilus galloprovincialis, tubular sea cucumber Holothuria tubulosa and Mediterranean limpet Patella sp. were sampled in three port areas and a reference location. A set of biomarkers was analysed to evaluate oxidative stress, detoxification, energetic metabolism, neurotoxicity, immunity and bioaccumulation (metallic trace elements and organic pollutants). The objectives were to assess pollution-induced effects in organisms, to determine the best bioindicator species for the selected locations and to validate a "pool" sampling technique (when the analysis is done on a single pool of samples and not on individual samples). The results validate the sampling techniques as "pool" for management purposes. St-Florent was demonstrated as the most contaminated location. All the other locations present a low contamination, below the recommended threshold values (for metallic trace elements and organic pollutants). Finally, the limpet appears to be the best bioindicator for the selected locations. Mussel and sea cucumber are inappropriate due to their absence in this oligotrophic region and the lack of responses observed, respectively.

Pollution particularly affects coastal ecosystems due to their proximity to anthropic sources. Among those environments, harbours are subjected to marine traffic but also to accidental and chronic pollution. These areas are thus exposed to complex mixtures of contaminants such as trace elements and organic contaminants which can impact marine species, habitats, and ecosystem services. The monitoring of these compounds is thus a crucial issue for assessment of environmental health. In this context, the aim of the present work was to evaluate the chemical contamination of harbours in Corsica (NW Mediterranean) by measuring the bioaccumulation of trace elements, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, and polychlorinated biphenyls in mussels, limpets, and sea cucumbers. The human health risks associated with seafood consumption were also assessed. Results reveal a relatively low contamination in the Corsican harbours studied compared to larger Mediterranean ports and suggest that the potential health risk for consumers eating seafood is low.

With the omnipresence of plastic litter from oyster farming in marine coastal areas, the objective of this work was to better understand the weathering of plastics used in this field, focusing on oyster spat collectors. During their use, around fifteen years, collectors made of polypropylene (PP) undergo numerous degradations, alternatively submerged, emerged in seawater, and stored outdoor until the next cycle. They weaken, crack, break, end up fragmenting and disseminated in the environment as microplastics associated to persistent organic pollutants. In this work, a comparison of 55 months of in situ weathering with five months of artificial weathering in air or in artificial seawater in a homemade UV chamber was conducted to better understand the mechanisms involved. Chemical, thermal and surface characterizations of virgin and weathered samples were conducted using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and Environmental Scanning Electron Microscopy (ESEM). After 55 months of in situ weathering, collectors were notably damaged with large fissures and loss of microplastics (MPs) associated with an increase of carbonyl index values and a decrease of melting temperatures and crystallinity rates. Considering only UV irradiation, five months of artificial weathering at 30 °C under continuous irradiation of 6.9 W/m2 under UV lamps (295-400 nm) reproduced approximately 4.4 months of natural sunlight. Artificial weathering confirmed that photooxidation by combined effects of UV rays and oxygen was the main weathering mechanism and was reduced in seawater. These results help to understand the mechanisms involved in the weathering of these collectors in the marine environment and provide valuable information for industrials and professionals. Our study suggests a better storage away from UV rays and a reduction of the duration of use compared to current practices.

In port areas the identification of contamination sources is necessary for an efficient management. Biomonitoring provides information on the environmental impact of the pollutants. It is often difficult to differentiate the natural variations of biomarkers from those induced by pollution. The present study aims to define a baseline level for biochemical biomarkers in limpet (Patella sp.) collected in four North-Corsica port areas. Reference data for five biomarkers (superoxide dismutase, glutathione S-transferase, laccase, pyruvate kinase and acetylcholinesterase) were described in a model, using length of the limpet shell, temperature and salinity. The measured biomarkers responses on potentially polluted sites usually fell within the range of the expected values for an unaffected site, suggesting that a main part of the variations is explained by environmental conditions. Not included in the model, biological factors (sex, development stage, etc.), annual variation or other physico-chemical parameter could explain the variations in the model.

Coastal areas are important interface environments between marine and terrestrial ecosystems and are also areas of high economic activity related, among others, to trade, fishing and tourism. The port areas of La Rochelle (France) are part of these areas with strong anthropic activities and are therefore subject to potential contamination, particularly with trace metals. Among the various sources of discharges, galvanic (or sacrificial) cathodic protection can be questioned. Indeed, few studies have been carried out on the potential impact of the degradation of sacrificial anodes in ports on the health of bivalves. A study was therefore carried out on the black scallop Mimachlamys varia in the commercial port and the marina of La Rochelle using the caging method. Several biomarkers of the health status of individuals were observed in the laboratory (SOD, GST, MDA, AChE, and LAC). Among the different results obtained over two exposure periods, it appears that the potential effects of sacrificial anodes, whether new or present on site for several years, are masked by meteorological conditions, as well as by harbor activities.

Coastal harbor areas are subjected to a myriad of contamination sources with largely unknown effects. Such complex chemical mixtures are difficult to monitor but transcriptomics is a promising approach for such biomonitoring. The present study was designed to verify the use of the Coastal Biosensor for Endocrine Disruption (C-BED) assay, previously developed to detect emerging contaminants and their effects on Mytilus edulis, on another mussel species, Mytilus galloprovincialis. Mussels were caged on St-Florent harbor (contaminated) and on Revellata Bay (reference) for three months. A classical multibiomarkers approach was coupled to the C-BED assay. The results of both approaches were analysed using the Integrated Biomarkers Responses (IBR) and compared to each other. Both approaches demonstrated a higher contamination and probable endocrine disruption of mussels in St-Florent, compared to the reference station. These results confirm that the C-BED assay provides an innovative method to expand our ability to detect emerging contaminants.

The characterization of organic and inorganic environmental pollution in coastal ecosystems, such as port areas, is complex and difficult to carry out due to the effect of environmental variables, as well as anthropic activities. For this study, the objective was to define a statistical method, taking into account the confounding factors influence, to define reference values for biomarkers in the black scallop (Mimachlamys varia). Thus, for five biomarkers (SOD (Superoxyde Dismutase), GST (Glutathion-S Transferase), MDA (Malondialdehyde), AChE (Acetylcholinesterase) and LAC (Laccase)), reference data could be described for individuals placed on sites more or less strongly impacted by specific environmental contaminations in port areas for more than two years, which had never been done before. All these results enabled us to calibrate and validate our approach in terms of active biomonitoring for the evaluation of a good ecological status of the environment of a port located on the French Atlantic coast.

The seasonal pattern of microplastics (MPs) contamination of the French littoral area of the Pertuis Charentais, one of the main French shellfish production regions, was assessed for the first time, between May 2019 and May 2020 at four different sites. The reference site was located at "Ile de Ré" and the other sites were located in the estuaries of the Sèvre Niortaise, Charente and Seudre rivers. Both blue mussels (Mytilus edulis) and Pacific oysters (Magallana gigas), that are considered sentinel species for the quality of the marine environment were analysed, along with sediment and seawater samples. MPs were extracted from each sample, counted, measured and sorted by colour and type. Micro-Raman spectroscopy was used to determine the proportion of confirmed MPs and the polymer types. The results showed that the contamination of mussels by fibres and fragments (1.9 ± 2.1 MPs/g ww) was significantly higher than for oysters (0.4 ± 0.4 MPs/g ww). Specifically, the contamination by fibres in both species was significantly greater than the contamination by fragments. Significant variations of MPs contamination were observed across the seasons and sites in bivalves, and depended on the species and the type of MPs (fibres or fragments). Mean concentrations of MPs measured in water and sediment were 0.007 MPs/L and 210 MPs/kg dw, respectively. Finally, blue was the dominant colour for fibres (79 %) and fragments (81 %). Blue fragments were mainly made of PS (70 %) followed by PC (18 %) and PP, PA or PLA (3 %) whereas blue fibres were mainly made of PA (80 %) followed by PET (13 %) or PP (7 %). This rare environmental case study of long-term chronic exposure of farming areas to MPs provides new knowledge on in situ variations of plastic fibres and fragments contamination throughout the seasons.

A qualitative screening high resolution mass spectrometry method was developed and validated according to the EU SANTE/12682/2019 guidelines for the analysis of 204 pesticides in seven commercial bivalve species spiked at three concentrations (0.01, 0.05 and, 0.1 mg.kg-1). Samples were extracted using QuEChERS and analysed using ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry. The QuEChERS method was optimised by the Taguchi Orthogonal Array approach. The best conditions were obtained with pure ACN, MgSO4/NaCl as extraction salts, MgSO4/PSA/C18 as clean-up, and the non-dilution of extracts. The impact of different HRMS acquisition modes on detection and identification rates were also evaluated. The screening detection limits were determined to be 0.01 mg.kg-1 and 0.1 for 66% and 87% of pesticides, respectively. These screening procedure was finally applied to different bivalve samples using target and suspect analysis. This allowed the identification of diuron and its metabolite 1-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-3-methylurea in the investigated samples.

This study focused on the impacts of aged aquaculture microplastics (MPs) on oysters (Crassostrea gigas). Adult oysters were exposed for two months to a cocktail of MPs representative of the contamination of the Pertuis Charentais area (Bay of Biscay, France) and issuing from oyster framing material. The MPs mixture included 28% of polyethylene, 40% of polypropylene and 32% of PVC (polyvinyl chloride). During the exposure, tissues were sampled for various analyzes (MP quantification, toxicity biomarkers). Although no effect on the growth of adult oysters was noted, the mortality rate of bivalves exposed to MPs (0.1 and 10 mg. L-1 MP) increased significantly (respectively 13.3 and 23.3% of mortalities cumulative). On the one hand, the responses of biomarkers revealed impacts on oxidative stress, lipid peroxidation and environmental stress. At 56 days of exposure, significant increases were noted for Glutathione S-Transferase (GST, 10 mg. L-1 MP), Malondialdehyde (MDA, 10 mg. L-1 MP) and Laccase (LAC, 0.1 and 10 mg. L-1 MP). No variations were observed for Superoxyde Dismutase (SOD). Besides, ingestion of MPs in oyster tissues and the presence in biodeposits was highlighted. In addition, in vitro fertilisations were performed to characterize MPs effects on the offspring. Swimming behavior, development and growth of D-larvae were analysed at 24-, 48- and 72-h after fertilisation. D-larvae, from exposed parents, demonstrated reduced locomotor activity. Developmental abnormalities and arrest as well as growth retardation were also noted. This study highlighted direct and intergenerational effects of MPs from aged plastic materials on Pacific oysters.

The present pilot study aimed to provide an overview of organic contaminant concentration levels in the littoral ecosystems of the Pertuis seas. The study determined the concentrations of twenty-nine pesticides, six nonylphenols and seven polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) in sediments, seawater, Pacific oysters and blue mussels. Oysters accumulated a higher number of pesticides than blue mussels. Indeed, alpha BHC (0.60-0.72 ng/g, ww), chlorfenvinphos (1.65-2.12 ng/g, ww), chlorpyrifos (0.79-0.93 ng/g, ww), chlortoluron (2.50-4.31 ng/g, ww), metolachlor (up to 0.38 ng/g, ww) and parathion (0.56-0.69 ng/g, ww) were quantified in oysters whereas only alpha BHC (0.24-0.31 ng/g, ww), was quantified in mussels. The present results also revealed that the POPs detected in water or sediments were not ultimately found accumulated in bivalves. Other molecules such as methylparathion and BDE47 were quantified in sediments. These molecules, BDE99 and one nonylphenol (OP2OE) were quantified in seawater. Finally, the comparison with the available environmental guidelines showed that the values measured were at concentrations not considered to cause adverse effects at the populations' level except for chlortoluron in seawater (15-50 ng/L).

Plastic is currently used in aquaculture as a material for settlement and magnification of oyster spats. Plastic weathering and fragmentation under natural conditions can lead to the production of micro and nanoparticles and additive leakage, with potential toxic effects on marine life. This study investigates the effects of the exposure to microplastic (MPs) cocktail derived from aged aquaculture material on oyster pediveliger larvae (Crassostrea gigas). The cocktail was made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE), polypropylene (PP) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The concentrations tested were 0, 0.1, and 10 mg MP·L-1. During the 7-day fixation phase, pediveliger larvae (17 days) were exposed to the MP cocktail in laboratory-controlled conditions. After exposure, the success of settlement was significantly lower for larvae exposed to 10 mg MP·L-1 (49 ± 0.9%) compared to control ones (61.8 ± 1.6%). No malformations or metamorphosis abnormalities were observed. Growth of pediveliger and spat stages was monitored up to 11 months. During the first twenty-eight days of development, spat growth was significantly lower for the two MPs exposure conditions (0.1 and 10 mg MP·L-1; respectively -51.8% and -44.4%) compared to control group. Subsequently, the previously exposed oysters grew faster than the control condition, resulting in a significantly greater growth (0.1 and 10 mg MP·L-1: +18.3% and +19.7%) than the control group at the end of follow-up. The nearly one-year follow-up highlighted the potential effects of MPs from aquaculture on larvae and spat of C. gigas.

Nowadays, pesticides and microplastics (MPs) are commonly found in coastal waters worldwide. Due to their widespread use, their persistence and toxicity, they may induce adverse effects on physiology and behaviour of marine organisms such as the Pacific oyster (Crassostrea gigas). This study explored the growth and valve activity of juvenile oysters exposed for 24 days to two frequently detected pollutants in the Pertuis Charentais (South West, France): a herbicide (chlortoluron, 85 µg.L-1) and high-density polyethylene microparticles (HDPE 20-25 µm, 112 MP.mL-1) alone or in combination (cocktail condition; 97 µg.L-1 of chlortoluron + 108 MP. mL-1). The valve activity of juvenile oysters recorded by using a High Frequency and Non-Invasive valvometer (HFNI) was characterized by three parameters: the number of valve micro-closures (VMC), the Valve Opening Amplitude (VOA), and the Valve Opening Duration (VOD). Additionally, daily shell growth and the oyster daily rhythm were assessed. The exposure to MPs of oysters led to a significant increase of VMC and a decrease of VOD and shell growth. The exposure to chlortoluron showed a significant increase of VOA and a decrease of VMC. In combination with MPs, chlortoluron still increased VOA and decreased VMC but also reduced the shell growth. Chronobiological analysis did not reveal any effects on the daily rhythm of both contaminants. This work highlighted significant effects of high environmental concentrations of MPs and Chlortoluron on the behaviour and growth of the Pacific oyster.

In the early 1970s, studies of marine litter first appeared in the scientific literature. Fifty years later, knowledge of several coastal areas of the Atlantic, the driving forces of oyster farmers and aquaculture, is lacking. This work documents a pilot study on an Atlantic coastal area (France). This study aims to (i) characterize the abundance of macroplastics related to aquaculture tools; (ii) microplastics present in beach sediments and (iii) characterization of pollutants present on aquaculture plastics collected. First, it was observed that 70% of the plastics collected on the beach were characteristic of aquaculture materials. In sediments, MPs most found were Polyamide between 10 and 20 µm, with a total MP concentration of 397-457 MPs.kg-1. Pipes collectors (PVC), frequently used in aquaculture, have been shown to have concentrations of dimethylphthalates and naphthalene. Waste management and support policies can then base their actions on such studies, in order to improve their knowledge.

This study aims to assess the toxic effects and the potential risk of widely used agricultural pesticides on the development (malformations and developmental arrest), growth and swimming activity of oyster D-larvae (Crassostrea gigas). Freshly fertilized oyster embryos were exposed for 24 h at 24 °C to different concentrations (0, 0.01, 0.1, 1 and 10 µg.L-1) of six different pesticides: Glyphosate and its commercial solution (Roundup), Isoproturon, Nicosulfuron, Chlortoluron and Boscalid. The six pesticides tested induced a significant increase in larval malformations and developmental arrests. All pesticides except Glyphosate and Isoproturon affected larval growth. Roundup, Nicosulfuron, Chlortoluron and Boscalid also affected the swimming behaviour of the D-larvae, with a significant decrease recorded in their maximum swimming speed. Comparison of the LOEC (Lowest-Observed-Effect Concentration) of each compound led to the following toxicity classification: Boscalid > Chlortoluron = Nicosulfuron > Glyphosate > Roundup > Isoproturon, with respectively LOEC of 0.0028; 0.015; 0.017; 0.11; 0.3 and 0.78 µg.L-1. By comparison of the maximum concentrations in the Pertuis Charentais (South West, France) and LOEC of each pesticide, the following risk scale was obtained: Chlortoluron > Boscalid > Glyphosate > Roundup > Nicosulfuron > Isoproturon. Our results revealed that Chlortoluron, Boscalid and to a lesser extent Glyphosate represent a potential threat to early life stages of oyster living in the Pertuis Charentais marine area.
